New Christian Education Class Starts

On the 8th of August, AMOSM will start a new Christian Education Class at its new location at 41695 Fenwick Street, Leonardtown.  The scripturally and bibically based course will be the Rev. R.C. Sproul’s  "The Last Days according to Jesus".  It is 12 lessons, with 30 minute DVD presentations followed with by 30 minute discussions.  Start time for the class will be 10:30 AM following Morning Worship.  A Studen Guide will be provided.  As in the past with our Christian Education Classes, we're anticipating an intense learning experience and much lively discussion.  Please consider joining us as you will be most welcomed.

AMOSM was featured in an article in The Independent last month.  The story is accessable online at SoMDNews.com and VirtueOnline.org.  Follow the links to read the full article.

"With people you do have a wealth of other resources to help you with the things you want to do. For some that means bringing your wallet, and that's bringing in members for the wrong reason," said Brookes Freegard, lay leader of the Anglican Mission. "That's not why we want more people. We want more people because I think it helps expand the ministry and our work. Hopefully we're reaching out to people without a church or who haven't been [to church] in a while."

Founded in 2005, the Anglican Mission is affiliated with the Anglican Church of North America, Anglican District of Virginia and the Convocation of Anglicans in North America. There are currently 15 people in the mission, Freegard said, most of whom are St. Mary's County residents and affiliated with Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Welcome to the new version of AMOSM's website!  The old software had reached its end-of-life, which necessitated this upgrade.  A few things remain to clean up, but most everything should be in order.  If you find any errors or if any members have trouble logging in, please contact me ASAP via the Contacts page.

Hope you enjoy the new look!
